The Ageing Room · Singapore
Singapore is ageing.

Aged 65+ Under 65
Each figure represents one percentage point. Partial shading shows the decimal.
Only the listed observation years are available. Values between them are not estimated.
Population ageing raises questions about accessible services, caregiving and healthy ageing. Age alone does not tell us an individual’s health or care needs.

Residents are Singapore citizens and permanent residents; non-residents are excluded. Observations refer to end-June of the selected year. This is a population share, not a prediction about a real gathering or the same people followed over time.

The fill for icon i is clamp(share − i, 0, 1) × 100%. Text retains the published one-decimal percentage. Change is measured in percentage points: 19.5 − 12.4 = 7.1. No forecasts or estimates of future years are included.

How old is your neighbourhood?
Choose a neighbourhood to compare its share of residents aged 65+ with Singapore overall.
The data uses official planning-area boundaries, which may differ from local neighbourhood names. Both comparisons use June 2026 data.
Both bars use the same 0–100% scale.

Source: SingStat, Singapore Residents by Planning Area/Subzone, Single Year of Age and Sex, June 2026. Planning areas follow URA Master Plan 2025. Residents away from Singapore continuously for 12 months or longer are excluded.
Original cells are rounded to the nearest 10. We sum all single-age, sex and subzone cells within each planning area; ages 65 through “90_and_Over” form the numerator, and all ages form the denominator.
These are approximate shares derived from rounded cells, not separately published area percentages. Rounding can distort results, especially for small areas.
Areas whose rounded counts total zero are excluded from the dropdown because an age share cannot be calculated. Museum, Western Water Catchment, Southern Islands, Singapore River and Mandai are also omitted from this selector.
All 55 areas remain in the downloadable source data. National comparison uses the published 19.5%, not an average of area percentages.
A single snapshot cannot establish whether an area is ageing faster, explain why it differs, or prove a service gap. No area forecasts are presented.
